IDS were commissioned to assist the client in the development of a new student “brand” in 2014. Initially developing the client brief to provide a unique specification alongside the design team and client, followed by negotiating the contract with the clients preferred contractor. During the pre-contract stage a full review of potential options were assessed including construction methodology, phasing and coordination in addition to fixtures, fittings, bathroom pods assessment and selection along with interior design and finishes. During the initial phase of the scheme, close liaison was required to deliver a number of enabling packages including several service diversions and the demolition of the existing building. Phase 1, a 140 studio development was delivered on time and to budget.
