IDS were recently been commissioned to manage the design development and negotiate a construction contract prior to delivery of a development of 150 studio beds on the outskirts of Chester town centre. The contractor was changed for this Primus project, which necessitated assistance in looking at the re education on the brand, issues incurred previously etc. The team also reviewed the previous schemes with all stakeholders, from client to operator to assess specifics and redesign areas such as the communal areas including uses, and the individual studios. To allow the programme to be maintained, IDS also procured an Enabling Works package which included asbestos removal, internal strip-out, demolition and associated interface with adjoining third parties including Network Rail.
