The Social Summer BBQ brought property and construction insiders together for an afternoon of informal networking and fundraising.
The annual event, which took place on the terrace at King Street Townhouse in Manchester, was organised by event sponsors Innov8 Development Solutions, Bell Munro Consulting, Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, Davis Blank Furniss Solicitors and Building Services Design.
This year chosen charity partner The Seashell Trust, which is based in Cheadle Hulme and provides education and residential care for 2 to 25-year-olds with profound learning difficulties and sensory impairments.
Ticket sales and a raffle helped raise over £3,000 towards The Social networking group’s £9,000 target for the whole year, which will help to fund a new Messy Play Room for the charity.
Innov8 Development Solutions, based at the Soapworks in Salford Quays, are pleased to announce the recent recruitment of 2 new team members.
Steven Eccles has joined as Quantity Surveyor from AA Projects and Sam Hussain as Front of House/Office Manager.
Carl Glover, Director at IDS said “We are delighted to welcome Steven and Sam to the company, which expands our team into double figures. The appointments are in line with our structured growth strategy and will support our ongoing workload as well as strengthening our offering within other target sectors.”
It’s that time again for our Social Summer BBQ!
In 2015 we raised a massive £8,333 for Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention and we greatly appreciate your help!
This year’s chosen charity is The Seashell Trust, a charity based in Cheadle Hulme that provides education and 52-week residential care for children and young people aged 2 to 25 with profound learning disabilities and sensory impairments.
The children and young people have some of the most complex needs and disabilities in society including deafness, blindness and autism, combined with physical disabilities and profound learning difficulties. All of them have some degree of brain damage, and critically, all have little or no ability to communicate. Every young person receives 1:1 support and some require 2:1 support.
This year we will be aiming to raise £9,000 for the Messy Play Room and adjoining Play Area in the BRAND NEW Royal School Manchester.
Children with multi-sensory impairments experience unique problems in mobility, accessing information and exploring and understanding their immediate surroundings and the wider world. Children need encouragement to explore their surroundings and need easy access to a variety of textures and play areas to develop tactile processing. Tactile panels, different surfaces and textures and areas for sand and water play are an essential part of our education here. It is also incredibly beneficial to those children who are tactile defensive. Children who cannot stand touch really struggle to have any sort of independence in life so if we can help them overcome this, they will have a much greater chance of developing their life skills.
Tickets are only £35 and you recieve a BBQ, Music, Raffle, Arrival cocktail and 2 complimentary drinks from the sponsors, what more do you need on a summers afternoon!
Maximum numbers are 150 so please book your ticket ASAP to avoid disappointment.
Last year’s event was a great success, let’s make this year’s event even better.
